One of the simpler things in life and an ode to coffee porn. Those that are as fanatical about the black stuff as I am, and one of my few vices left. I finally got round to ordering a stove-top espresso maker. Although it may seem like an old fashioned, non-techy gadget, it is without a doubt, for me anyway, the best way to enjoy a really awesome cup of espresso.

The concept is really quite simple, heat up water under pressure slightly to force it through coffee grinds in the bottom half up into the receptacle in the top half. Quite simply ingenious, and this particular model invented somehere around 1933 I believe.

The end result is a rich, dark, strong coffee packed with aromas and flavour that really sends the taste buds into coffee ecstasy.

If you havent had the pleasure as yet, worth checking on eBay or Amazon, they aren’t that expensive, and once you have gown down the route  of the real mccoy there is no turning back. Salute.

A magical book on how to look at the changing world around you. Was recommended by a client of mine whom I am very grateful to, as it really has opened my eyes to what I would like to achieve in the future.

Well worth a read.

It is that time again, when we set resolutions and then break them.

But what about your business resulotions?

Time to set up a new one – to ensure you get the best return on your identity that you can.

What does that mean?

It simply means; is your corporate image, brand, logo or colour scheme really working to drive people and indeed sales to you? Either via your web site, email or phone or maybe via foot traffic to your office?

Ask yourself why isn’t it working?

There may be a multitude of reasons, but I would like to eliminate at least one of them.

The fact that your brand, logo, identity or any other form of company marketing isn’t working for you or your business. Or maybe it is and just needs a refresh.

How? Well that’s the interesting part.

By just talking to you, nothing more at this stage.

I would like to know more about you and the business and see where we can create the WOW factor again, to ensure that you know your brand, identity, logo, literature is right up there delivering your company’s message LOUD and CLEAR.

You’ve got nothing to fear and nothing to lose. by simply talking.

Try it, you may be surprised.

Was talking to my Mum this morning, who promptly recited her intriguing story of what happened to her last night.

Whilst entertaining 6 people for dinner, a knock on the door was heard. Her partner aswered it to find a young man standing there.

He greeted them: ”Hello, sorry to bother you, but my mobile phone battery is dead and needs charging, please could I plug it in for a short while, as I am trying to find a friend of mine, can’t seem to find here house and her number is on my phone?”

Mums partner answered: “Yes, no problem. Would you like something to eat?”

Stranger: “Yes please”

he was given a plate of food and was told to wait outside in the entrance way (my Mum didn’t feel safe letting a complete stramger in).

The stranger sat on his bag and ate his plate of food.

Mum asked the stranger: “Would you like a drink?”

He answered: “Yes please, could I have a glass of red wine, thank you, and please could you bring the phone and charger. I think that the phone was charged enough to make a call”

Slightlty taken aback thinking maybe he would ask for a beer, tea or coffee, Mum obliged and as she gave the wine to the Stranger said: “Just leave the glass on the porch when you are finished”

With that, she closed the door. She didn’t hear from the Stranger, and when she went outside to collect the glass, there was a small note torn from an envelope stuck to it.

It simply read: ”Thank you and Happy New Year, love Jay”

They say it is good luck if a dark haired starnger knocks on your door on New Years Day.

Although I am not deeply superstitious, sometimes it does make you think…
